What it means

The administrator is a useful contact for tracing a member record. The name on an old letter may differ from the current contact, so check the official route.

An example

Keep “employer”, “scheme” and “administrator” in separate fields. An enquiry can then name the scheme clearly even if the employer no longer exists.

Use it in your pension list

Keep the term beside the original source, rather than using it to fill a gap in your knowledge. If the scheme wording is different, save the wording and ask for clarification. An unknown field is easier to correct than a confident guess.
