Ask each employer about the relevant employment
Automatic enrolment involves an employer assessing a worker’s circumstances. The Pensions Regulator also explains that multiple contracts with the same employer need consideration of whether they operate as one employment relationship. Do not decide this by adding salaries together in a spreadsheet. Ask payroll how your contracts are being assessed.

Keep membership evidence for each role
GOV.UK explains joining conditions and the information an employer sends after automatic enrolment. Keep the answer for one employment distinct from the answer for another; membership in a scheme at one job does not prove membership at your other job.

Build a simple employer-to-scheme map
Create one private row for each employer or contract trail you need to clarify. Label the employment, scheme and administrator separately. If the same provider name appears twice, preserve both trails until it explains whether they relate to separate records.
For example, fictional “Harbour Shop” and “Cedar Studio” could each appear on an organising list with the provider still unknown. That is a useful set of research tasks; it is not a claim that either job created a pension.
- Employer or contract name and relevant work dates.
- Scheme membership evidence, including joining date if confirmed.
- Pay period for each deduction or contribution query.
- Official contact route and outstanding question.
Compare like with like only
A deduction, an employer payment and a statement valuation are different figures. Keep dates and labels attached rather than adding them into a supposed live balance. The organiser does not work out automatic-enrolment eligibility, contribution obligations or tax relief across jobs.
Use the contribution-query and tax-relief guides for preparation. Decisions about combining pensions belong in a separate suitability discussion. The browser organiser holds short notes only and does not contact employers.
