A UK pension fund can describe international holdings
MoneyHelper’s pension-investment guide includes UK and international shares among possible holdings. The FCA explains that funds can cover companies in one country or across several countries. Availability and the actual mix need the scheme’s current description.
Keep the provider name, fund identity and stated investment regions in separate fields in your own notes. A country word in the name does not, by itself, explain everything held. Ask for the underlying description rather than filling missing regions with assumptions.

Holdings and where a fund is based are separate questions
The FCA’s sustainability guide separately discusses funds based outside the UK when explaining the scope of its labels. A description of international holdings does not by itself establish where the fund is based or which rules apply.
Ask the provider what it means by overseas in the document, including any currency-risk explanation. This guide does not determine protections, tax treatment or currency exposure for a particular arrangement. It neither transfers a pension nor proposes a destination.

Keep separate pension-abroad questions separate
A fund’s international investments, moving a private pension and receiving State Pension while living abroad are different questions. Do not use an investment description as an answer about access, residence, State Pension increases or a transfer.
Investments can fall as well as rise. Past performance does not predict future returns. Use the State Pension abroad guide for government-payment questions, and obtain appropriate scheme guidance or individual advice for private-pension decisions. No overseas allocation or product is recommended here.
